About MicroWISE

MicroWISE develops state-of-the-art equipment for ballast water analysis using our know-how from a variety of fields, including microbial ecology, optics and software development. BallastWISE, our portable ballast water compliance test, accurately measures living organisms in ballast water samples and requires no laboratory experience or additional chemicals. By advancing effective technologies for ballast water testing and monitoring, we want to protect the marine environment and the livelihoods of those dependent on it. Therefore, we are working with institutions worldwide, including classification societies, testing laboratories and maritime service providers, to ensure that BallastWISE lives up to the standards that the maritime industry and port state authorities need to implement to stop the spread of invasive species.
