About Midwest Automotive Media Association (MAMA)
Formed as a nonprofit in the fall of 1991 to bring together journalists and public relations professionals involved in the auto industry, the Midwest Automotive Media Association (MAMA) has since grown to include more than 260 members spread out across 24 states. Our membership base includes online, print, and broadcast journalists, photographers, analysts, engineers, classic car buffs, motorsports enthusiasts, as well as those working directly in communications and product development roles at today's leading automakers and suppliers. Every month, we hold engaging in-person or virtual meetings that focus on important topics in the industry, guest speakers, and new vehicle presentations. The annual three-day Spring Rally at Road America is our pinnacle event followed by a one-day Fall Rally. Additionally, MAMA and the Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA) sponsor a welcome breakfast during the Chicago Auto Show's Media Preview each February attended by more than 400 people. This is also when MAMA presents to manufacturers its coveted "Family Vehicle of the Year" and "Luxury Family Vehicle of the Year" awards to standout vehicles that have been evaluated and voted on by our members.
