About Midwest Region of the National Black Law Students Association ("MWBLSA")
The Midwestern (Midwest) Region of the National Black Law Students Association (MWBLSA) is a duly registered regional administrative jurisdiction under the National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA). NBLSA was founded in 1968 with the mission to increase the number of culturally responsible Black and minority attorneys who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community. The purpose of MWBLSA is to articulate and promote the educational, professional, political, and social needs and goals of Black law students in the Midwest. The Magnetic Midwest Region of the National Black Law Students Association comprises chapters in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Our region is divided into three subregions to better serve our students and to allow more opportunities for our students to be paired with law firms in mentorship opportunities.
