About Midwest Ultimate Academy

Midwest Ultimate Academy is a mission-driven youth sports organization dedicated to expanding access to Ultimate Frisbee through high-quality coaching, financial accessibility, and intentional community outreach. Based in Minneapolis, our programs are designed to develop athletic skill, leadership, and sportsmanship while removing systemic barriers that have historically limited participation among low-income and underrepresented communities. We offer year-round programming—including developmental clinics advanced training camps, and competitive tournaments—serving youth ages 6 to 18. Through our partnership with Minneapolis Parks and Recreation, we reach a broad and diverse audience across the Twin Cities, and our sliding fee scale ensures that no family is turned away due to financial constraints. Led by Founder, CEO, and Head Coach Mauricio Badillo Moorman, a Carleton College Ultimate recruit with deep roots in the sport, Midwest Ultimate Academy is committed to hiring and mentoring a diverse coaching staff that reflects the communities we serve. As Ultimate Frisbee rapidly grows at the youth and professional levels, Midwest Ultimate Academy is creating a more inclusive pipeline for future athletes, coaches, and leaders. Our goal is to make Ultimate not just a sport, but a vehicle for opportunity, representation, and long-term personal growth.
