About MIHERC

Maternal and Infant Health Equity Research Centre (MIHERC) is a collaborative effort between Sheffield Hallam University, Bournemouth University and City of Doncaster Council working to reduce health inequalities for mothers and babies. MIHERC brings together leaders from Sheffield Hallam University, Bournemouth University and the City of Doncaster Council. We combine expertise in maternal health, computing, behavioural science, and public health to tackle inequality through cross-sector collaboration. Our research focusses on reducing health disparities before, during and after pregnancy in the following priority areas: The transition to parenthood, perinatal mental health, communication barriers and healthy lifestyle support. Our Vision is a future where every mother and baby has equitable access to excellent care, regardless of ethnicity, disability, geography, or socioeconomic background. Our Mission is to eliminate preventable disparities in maternal and infant health through research excellence, community empowerment, and digital innovation.
