About Mike's Kids Education Foundation
Mike's Kids Education Foundation Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded in memory of former Superintendent B. Michael Caudill. Mr. Caudill was superintendent of Madison County Schools from July 2001 until his death in December 2007. Mr. Caudill believed every student has the ability to succeed if he or she is given the right tools. The Foundation is dedicated to fulfilling Mr. Caudill's desire to ensure all students in Madison County Schools have the opportunity to succeed. Each year, Mike's Kids Education Foundation awards a minimum of 18 $500 grants to teachers who bring innovative literacy programs into the classroom. Technology grants were added in 2017 as a reward given to the elementary and secondary winning schools of the district's Technology Extravaganza. The Foundation also awards two $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors at Madison Central and Madison Southern high schools. To date, the Foundation has awarded more than $120,000 in literacy grants, more than $5,000 in technology grants, and more than $30,000 in scholarships.
