About Mike Thompson's RV
The company was founded in 1972 on a 2 acre freeway location in Santa Fe Springs, California. Through acquisitions of surrounding parcels, this Santa Fe Springs location is now 9.5 acres and also serves as our corporate headquarters. In 1981 we started our second location by opening in Irvine, California, at the Traveland USA RV mall. We quickly became the largest dealer in Traveland. In 1994 we moved from the Traveland location to a property we purchased in Fountain Valley, California. In 2004 we acquired second property, which gave us freeway frontage on both sides of Interstate 405. This expansion increased our location to a total of 12 acres, with over 2,000 ft. of freeway frontage with a drive-by average of 338,000 vehicles per day. In 1989 we expanded into our third location at the RV Expo Mall in Colton, California. We have expanded our part of the RV Expo Mall to 14 acres, which is more than half of the RV Expo Mall. Today our three freeway locations have a drive-by traffic count of over 680,000 vehicles per day. Initially MTRV was a motorhome dealer only. In 1992 we expanded into trailers and fifth wheels. Adding trailers and adding more lines led to our growing to become the largest RV dealer in California.
