How it all Started Scott Lawn Yard (SLY) now Miller Construction Services was started in 1985 by Christine and Scott Miller, lifelong residents of Niagara County, with a pickup truck and a pair of push lawn mowers. Growing the Business In 1990, Scott Lawn Yard opened an office in Sanborn, NY., quickly pivoting from residential to commercial large scale site construction projects, which became the revenue driver of the business. Scott Lawn Yard won its first public works job, at the Niagara Falls Water Treatment Plant, and its first FEMA project clearing the city streets of Buffalo after a snow storm. Soon after these milestones, SLY received their first roadwork project for NYS Parks converting a section of the Robert Moses Parkway to pedestrian pathways; and their first $1M + project, a region-wide landscaping project for NYSDOT putting Scott Lawn Yard on the map. Keeping up with the Growth In 2018, SLY moved our headquarters investing in a 22,000+ SF facility in the Town of Niagara. Continued growth and adding services such as asphalt and concrete allowed the company to become a complete self-performing site construction company. Approaching our 40th anniversary & looking back, Scott Lawn Yard has evolved from a small landscape business to a full-scale site construction company approaching $60 million in annual revenue, over 125 employees and bonding capabilities approaching of $180 million. CEO, Christine Miller is recognized by the state of NY as a certified WBE. With well over $300+ Million of completed projects, Scott Lawn Yard has established itself in the Western NY market as one of the premier site work construction companies.
