This page will introduce you to The Woburn Wine Company ABOUT US The Woburn Wine Company is the most refreshing thing to happen in wine in the Beds/Herts/Bucks area since the monks first planted vines at Warden Abbey in the 12th Century. Yes, we’re new – we started trading in April 2011 – but we have over a quarter of a century of experience in the wine and spirits trade. We are based just outside the picturesque and historic town of Woburn – home to the famous Woburn Abbey, Safari Park and Championship Golf Courses. Woburn Wine Company is run by George Atkinson-Clark. George started working in the wine trade in 1985 for Justerini & Brooks, and has worked for Chateau Mouton Rothschild, Veuve Clicquot Champagne, Louis Latour burgundy, Cloudy Bay and FE Trimbach Alsace amongst many others. For ten years he was Managing Director of Champagne Ruinart UK. He has extensive experience in advising and selling to Trade, Corporate and Retail customers. WHAT WE DO Our aim is simple. We sell wines that we consider are the best value for money in their particular region and price bracket. That does not mean we sell everything from everywhere, but more that we select which are the best value for money in the regions we have identified. We believe in value for money at all levels from a bottle of everyday drinking wine at £7 to a classed growth claret at £70. Many of our wines have been sourced by Master of Wine David Round from individual and interesting growers throughout the world. We supply a range of wines from selected regions and at varying prices to Trade, Corporate and Retail customers. We arrange tastings for customers which can be more formal or light hearted and irreverent. We provide advice on food and wine matching, and cater for parties and events.
