About Mindful Futures Initiative (M.F.I.)
Our mission is empowering under-served youth communities through the transformative practice of mindfulness. We provide mindfulness training, life-skills counseling, and art-based therapy to a variety of at-risk groups in safe and supportive spaces. These tools are geared to help develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, and personal growth. We aim to inspire resilience, self-discovery, and positive transformation, which supports our students in not only navigating their current challenges successfully, but also finding the strength and courage to create the lives they want to live. For our students who are incarcerated, we strive to cultivate mindfulness to support the rehabilitation process, reduce re-incarceration, and to mentor those in our care to lead more fulfilling and purposeful lives — both during and after their time in incarceration.
