Mindful Steps Therapy CIC is a Black-led, parent-informed organisation supporting families raising children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We work with those who feel dismissed by schools, delayed by services, and blamed instead of supported. We exist for parents who are told to wait and see For carers passed from one service to another For families made to feel like they are asking for too much Founded by a qualified Probation Officer, neurodivergent adult, and parent of a neurodivergent child, our work blends lived experience, justice insight, and practical knowledge of SEND, health, and education systems. We understand what happens when children are misunderstood and unsupported. We focus on early support before exclusion, before breakdown, and before emotional harm takes hold. We offer: One to one SEND Clarity Calls EHCP preparation and paper trail support Parent coaching and emotional debriefs Resources tailored to real home and school struggles Advocacy for families facing school conflict, exclusion risk, or delays in SEND support We believe in clear communication, honest advice, and real options for families.
