About MindfulStep

At Mindful Step, our mission is to support veterans and serving military personnel struggling with mental health challenges—such as PTSD, anxiety, and depression—by reconnecting them with nature, purpose, and each other. Through outdoor adventures, peer-led support, and inclusive experiences, we provide a safe, understanding space where healing begins with every step. Mindful Step was founded by Geoff Green, a former soldier and lifelong outdoor enthusiast, after a powerful conversation with an old army friend. Recognising the unique struggles many veterans face when transitioning to civilian life, Geoff saw the need for a different kind of support—one built on shared experience, trust, and the restorative power of nature. With a background in hiking, mountaineering, and military service, Geoff set out to create a charity where veterans could find their footing again—physically, emotionally, and mentally. What began as a simple idea has grown into a movement of connection, resilience, and hope. From climbing mountains to sitting around campfires, MindfulStep has helped countless veterans open up, find purpose, and take meaningful steps toward recovery.
