About MiniNature Reserve

MiniNature Reserve is dedicated to transforming urban spaces by planting native plants in empty parkways, promoting biodiversity, and empowering communities to reconnect with nature. What started as a backyard nursery has now grown to a network of a Youth Advisory Board, 700+ volunteers, and 2,000+ native plants restored across 20,000 square feet of land. We are based in Ventura County, the fastest-warming in the U.S., with projects all throughout the Saticoy Plain. Our initiatives include guerrilla gardens, a 1,500 square foot community nursery, Indigenous cooking classes, and multilingual environmental education, all free to the community and in partnership with Community Roots Garden. Through grassroots efforts, MiniNature Reserve is building a movement for sustainable ecosystems in urban environments, demonstrating that even small actions, like planting one milkweed, can lead to a greener future.
