Let all be witnesses unto this proclamation “(SL Youth Report 2012 p. ix) In February 2013, within the vision of His Excellency the President, Dr Ernest Bai Koroma, the Ministry of Youth Employment and Sports was separated into two Ministries: Ministry of Youth Affairs and Ministry of Sports Mission Statement To mobilize the talents and energies of the youth of sierra Leone for positive transformation of society, through action of opportunities for economic, social, psychological and cultural development and also to promote the physical, psychological well being of all sierra Leoneans, A spirit of healthy competition, unity and love for the country through the support of all youths at all levels. Objectives The objectives of the Ministry of Youth Affairs include: To provide appropriate policies and programmes that will empower the young people and create employment opportunities for them.
