About Minnesota FCCLA
FCCLA empowers youth to become leaders in their families, careers and communities by focusing on tangible professional development, transferable leadership skills, and meaningful social connections. Work and community life has never been more complex to navigate or intimidating for young people to enter into. Studies show todays youth feel overwhelmed, stressed and powerless over their future. FCCLA directly addresses these common anxieties by giving students opportunities to develop skills, confidence to thrive in their career journey, and the tools to rise to whatever challenges life has to offer. FCCLA prepares students for their careers and community lives through hands-on leadership experiences. Students have opportunities to step up in planning and leading community service projects, fundraisers, managing their local groups, planning and facilitating events, leading workshops to their peers, and setting the direction for the organization. This youth led approach relies on interactive methods to engage youth in career exploration, professional development, personal growth and making strong social connections. Through national programs, lesson plans, workshops, service projects, and events at local, area, state and national levels -- members get a well rounded experience preparing them for whatever life has to offer.
