Comsonics required mechanical design, component research & specification and packaging of a RF leakage detection system used in the CATV industry. This full featured hand held detector enclosure and docking cradle is engineered by Mirai Design and is comprised of a shock resistant injection molded 2 shot PC/ABS enclosure that is over molded with a thermoplastic elastomer grip . The enclosure included a number of integrated components such as a sealed control interface, light pipe and display bezel. This architecture reduced assembly costs and resulted in a more rugged package. In addition to the enclosure and dock system Mirai was responsible and involved with the specification and sourcing of the PCB layout, Li-Ion battery pack, charge system, custom charge connector and prototype fabrication. The Comsonics Sentinel unit went to production and is in commercial use. www.comsonics.com
