About MishMash Productions

At MishMash Productions, we aim to provide all children with the opportunity to experience live classical music by creating inclusive, warm and welcoming live music experiences that actively challenge the preconceived notion that classical music is “not for us.” We work in a way that places music at the centre of everything we do, taking the music to our audiences so they feel comfortable and relaxed at a MishMash performance. We believe that by pushing boundaries and dismantling outdated traditions, we can build a 21st-century classical music offer that is exciting, engaging and, most importantly, relevant to the present. How do we do this? By collaborating with directors and designers, we produce and tour high-quality productions where live music and performance bring stories, emotions and ideas to life. Our talented and multi-skilled MishMash musicians playfully interact with audiences, inviting children to fully immerse themselves in the magic of music, often for the very first time. From the extraordinary responses we hear from children and adults, we can be confident about the impact of our innovative approach. Audiences at leafy suburban theatres, cosmopolitan concert halls, inner-city schools, and rural libraries come away having had an overwhelmingly positive and transformative experience, which we hope plays a central role in sparking a lifelong journey of music enjoyment.
