About Mississippi's Toughest Kids-Camp Kamassa

Mississippi’s Toughest Kids Foundation is building Camp Kamassa, Mississippi’s first and only year-round fully handicap accessible camp facility for children and adults with serious illnesses, physical and mental challenges and other special needs. Camp Kamassa is currently under construction in Copiah County, just south of Jackson and will serve all 82 Mississippi counties as well as neighboring states. Mississippi has limited opportunity for those in our state affected by special needs. Every building and every activity at Camp Kamassa will provide accessibility for ALL of our campers….that includes the zero entry pool, ball field, lake activities, archery range, high & low challenge courses, horseback riding, and so much more. Our activities building will provide spaces for indoor activities like wood working, crafts, dancing, music, theater, and will also have a library and a teaching kitchen. The state-of-the-art infirmary will ensure that campers will not have to leave camp for medical treatments. Mississippi has well over 50,000 school age children living with special needs. Our vision is to provide campers with the opportunity to enjoy the natural world, explore, learn, and build relationships in a safe and welcoming environment regardless of their different abilities.
