About Missouri-Kansas Clinical Nurse Specialists
The Greater Kansas City Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Chapter began meeting informally in the spring of 1992. The group was formed out of mutual interests among Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS). The Chapter became a recognized affiliate of the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists (NACNS) in the fall of 2002. The affiliate agreement was revised and signed in summer of 2017. In order to be more inclusive of clinical nurse specialists in our region, the current affiliate membership voted to change the name of the affiliate to MO-KAN Clinical Nurse Specialists, effective May 2017. The MO-KAN Clinical Nurse Specialists exists for the purposes of networking, providing mutual support, sharing of role implementation and providing educational offerings, specific to the role. The group provides a local connection to the NACNS for Kansas and Missouri Clinical Nurse Specialists and practices in accordance with the NACNS Affiliate Agreement.
