Established in 1929, the regional hospital has evolved as a progressive critical access facility, which also houses a 38-bed Residential Care Center and a 10 bed Geriatric Special Care Unit. The 25-bed acute care wing, includes a 4 bed ICU and offers private rooms for all patients. The hospital's Resident Care Center, focuses on long-term resident care. Many services and activities are offered daily to the residents, which keeps them active and celebrating life. They receive around-the-clock care from a compassionate health team, including access to the best local physicians, skilled healthcare employees, and rehabilitation services assuring they receive exceptional care. The Geriatric Special Care Unit offers a comprehensive program designed to meet the diverse mental health needs of older adults. A treatment team consisting of registered nurses, social workers and activity therapists work together to provide appropriate, high quality acute care for every patient. Both in-patient and out-patient programs are available. MCHHS is a Level IV Trauma Center and also provides many outpatient services that consists of radiology, lab, physical therapy, occupational therapy, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, surgical clinic and patient education.
