About Mitchell's House
Mitchell’s House is a safe place offering counseling and play therapy services to children with life threatening illnesses, their siblings and parents, regardless of their ability to pay. It is the first-of-its-kind non-profit counseling center in the United States to focus on children and families facing medical trauma. When a child is diagnosed, medical trauma impacts the entire family. Our licensed clinicians help sick children build resilience, which helps them cope and engage better with treatment. They also give siblings and parents a safe place to process feelings and learn skills to persevere.
