While the first 15 years were spent specialising in residential AV products like televisions and video recorders, the factory decided that they could no longer justify producing these despite their popularity in New Zealand. So, they had to focus on finding the next big thing, and the company landed upon the then fledgling compressor driven product market. BDT is intent on cementing its position as a leader in heat pumps and refrigeration.
