About Mitsui Fine Arts
Mitsui Fine Arts offers an alternative experience for collecting the most remarkable Japanese art, craft, and design — one in which the buyer may enter into Misako Mitsui's meditative, idiosyncratic world. She always invites you into her realm of knowledge by sharing the stories and lore of the objects she offers in the gallery. If you are interested in experiencing Japanese art and design that unites your collection, lifestyle, sophistication, and soul, please message me. The gallery's clientele includes: Museums - I work with directors, curators, and those in education and communication departments. After thoroughly considering the museum's Japanese art collection, history, and goals, I suggest either a single piece or a whole collection that will enhance or close the collection gap. Seasoned art collectors – As a collection grows, its focus can become blurred, or a collector's connection to it may diminish over time. I review the collection with a fresh eye and a clearer perspective. I assess the collection's position - esthetically, scholarly, financially. I also consider how it acts as a personal source of pride and enjoyment for my clients. I then guide them through refocusing, enhancing, and furthering the development of the collection as a renewed whole. Emerging art collectors – I start with reflecting on what art collecting means to them and what drives them to acquire pieces or not. I help them further define their goals and desires. With my comprehensive approach, my clients fulfill their goals with clarity and increased confidence while thoroughly enjoying the quest. Scholars and art connoisseurs – I also work with buyers who have extensive knowledge of art in general or Japanese art, in particular, to assist with new acquisitions. I invite them to visit my website or my gallery in San Rafael, CA. There I show them artworks according to the century-old principle of Toriawase, carefully selected to create harm
