About Mixed Media Promotion
I started Mixed Media back in 1989 (you do the math 😎), and over the years, I’ve helped artists, companies, and festivals break through the noise and get noticed. From international radio and print coverage to building a massive, ever-evolving industry network, my approach has always been fast, focused, and results-driven. I’ve done it all—literally. Packed blues vinyl with bottle caps, mailed garter belts and subway tokens to grab attention for singer-songwriters. Creativity’s always been part of the job. On the festival front, Mixed Media has been a go-to for Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in the Berkshires since 1998, and from 2016 to 2023, proudly handled publicity for Rhode Island’s Rhythm & Roots Festival. For the past several years, I also served as VP of Media & Distribution at Whaling City Sound. During that time, I negotiated a distribution deal with Naxos of America that boosted sales by 80%. I managed everything from radio chart campaigns and press outreach to metadata and digital delivery for every release. I’ve built long-term relationships (20+ years with several clients!) and kept pace with the ever-changing media world—from faxing press kits and cold calling editors to pitching curators via text and managing social strategies across platforms. Still love what I do. Still making things happen.
