About Mkg Group

At MKG Group, formerly known as Makgolokwe Projects, we are dedicated to expanding energy access in underserved regions. While we’ve already brought electricity to 7,479 households across more than 100 communities in South Africa and Botswana, we recognize that there is still much more to be done. Many municipalities across South Africa continue to struggle with unreliable service delivery, and we are committed to bridging that gap. To address these challenges, we have formed a strategic partnership to provide innovative revenue management guidance. This collaboration empowers municipalities to manage resources more effectively, improving service delivery and creating a lasting impact on their communities. By integrating solar energy solutions with revenue management tools, we are doing more than just powering communities for today—we are building a foundation for communities to thrive in the long run. Beyond energy solutions, we place a strong emphasis on local development, equipping over 200 community members with valuable skills in solar installation and construction, ensuring they can take an active role in shaping their futures. Our long-term goal is to expand our solutions across the SADC region and the African continent. We aim to close the electrification gap in underserved areas while promoting clean energy to help Africa achieve SDG Goal 7 (affordable and clean energy). At the same time, we support SDG Goal 11 (sustainable cities and communities) by using data to improve service delivery and efficiency. By increasing access to reliable, clean energy and improving service delivery, we strive to create strong, self-reliant communities across Africa, ready for long-term growth.
