Crowdsourcing, despite its apparent advantages in bringing innovative and creative solutions to problems as cheaply and quickly as possible, does not enjoy ubiquitous support and use among large corporations and organisations; there is no Excel, Gmail or Zoom equivalent for crowdsourcing platforms, particularly in the innovation crowdsourcing space. The reason for this lack of crowdsourcing support is the difficulty in organising, categorising, clustering and moderating ideas for the purpose of generating innovative solutions to problems—crowds tend not to work as a cohesive unit, instead cultivating sole contributors who work independently of, and sometimes, in conflict with each other. It is particularly difficult to moderate contributions at scale because of the reliance on human moderators, limiting the potential use of crowdsourcing to small projects that could just as easily be handled by conventional means. Crowdsourcing therefore falls by the wayside as conventional techniques are preferred due to their simplicity and reliability. The true power of the crowd, and consequently its creativity, wisdom, speed and efficiency, are not harnessed to their full extent, costing organisations money due to wasted human resources. mndnt presents a solution to this problem in the form of a fully algorithmically-moderated platform for organising, clustering, and extracting the ideas that result from the collective exploration of an idea space. mndnt is the brain that directs the brainstorming, using its computational resources to moderate ideation so that users don’t have to. There is no bias nor limitation of the scale of the crowdsourcing endeavour, allowing organisations to plumb the depths of their wellsprings of innovation.
