About Models Of The Mecca
Founded on January 10, 2018 by Deja Davenport, Peyton Kinchen, and Deante’ Massenburg, Models of the Mecca is a modeling and creative organization on the campus of Howard University. We promote inclusivity in all aspects of fashion through creativity, community, and passion. We strive for excellence, diversity, integrity, and equality, not mediocrity, by having love for others and oneself. We specialize in print and runway modeling as well as creative 'behind-the-runway' departments. A multitude of our members are signed & published models and creatives, including in Vogue, New York and DC Fashion Weeks, and numerous other publications. We are involved in the community, both on-and off-campus. In addition to our annual showcase welcoming our new members, we hold several creative events throughout the semester, such as walk clinics, fashion and beauty workshops, print photo opportunities, and community service projects.
