About Mokosh Skincare
Mokosh was founded by former medical scientist, veterinarian and pathologist Marion O’Leary, after she came to understand the potentially damaging health effects of traditional skincare formulations. Rooted in the wisdom of science, nature and Ayurveda, Mokosh removes the non-essential from traditional skincare, bringing together the natural world’s most potent, healing botanicals in a simple, multipurpose range. Mokosh formulas are designed to deliver pure, concentrated nutrition to your skin, restore its natural balance and promote a return to its natural, radiant state. Good skin is simple. We know our bodies respond with health to a balanced, whole food diet — the same is true for our skin. Delivering the right nutrients, without the synthetics we’ve become accustomed to in skin care, will allow your skin to become truly healthy. Combining knowledge from modern science and ancient Ayurvedic traditions, our products tend to the root cause of skin imbalances, restoring the skin’s equilibrium so it can use its innate intelligence to take care of itself. Traditional skin care includes water in its formulations to dilute the oils that are responsible for moisturising our skin. The addition of water then requires the presence of skin-disrupting emulsifiers and preservatives to keep the formula stable. By removing water, Mokosh products need neither of these potentially harmful ingredients and are therefore enriched with higher doses of hydrating and healing botanicals. Setting out to simplify skincare while respecting the natural world in the process, Mokosh is reshaping the industry. All ingredients are vetted for ethics and effectiveness before being packaged in refillable and recyclable glass. The full range is certified organic with NASAA, certified palm oil free with Orangutan Alliance, and Leaping Bunny approved. Mokosh purchases trees for planting in a biodiversity hotspot in Australia, and runs a container and closure return scheme.
