About Mollie's Fund
The Biggane Family founded The Mollie Biggane Melanoma Foundation in 2000, after the tragic death of their 20-year-old daughter from melanoma. Their mission is to increase awareness for melanoma prevention, provide information and services on skin cancer detection, and support melanoma patients through education of the latest treatments. For more than twenty years, Mollie’s Fund has been honored by many public and private institutions. Jack and Maggie are also co-founders of MAC (Melanoma Action Coalition), made up of grassroots skin cancer organizations across the USA and Canada and she is an active member of New York State’s Cancer Prevention Committee’s Skin Cancer Action Team. Mollie’s Fund partners with peers in the melanoma community, hospital systems, schools, local governments, community associations, and businesses in the war against melanoma. Our organization partners and supports the Melanoma Research Alliance. We also work with the AIM at Melanoma Foundation, NY State Cancer Prevention Coalition, and IMPACT Melanoma Foundation to extend our message and strengthen our mission. Mollie's Fund partners with eye melanoma specialists at MSKCC to develop skin cancer resources. We proudly collaborate with NYU Langone and NYU Winthrop, Stonybrook University Hospital, and the Long Island Catholic Health Hospitals to present initiatives for skin cancer prevention. Many of our pro-bono PSAs are created by Area 23. Donations to Mollie's Fund contribute to over 5 million views of our award-winning advertisements, along with over 50 million views of our Times Square Billboard, JFK display, and Melanoma Monster Campaign. We remind millions of Yankee and Mets’ fans of the importance of sun protection every week through their radio networks. Donations also contribute to the distribution of millions of skin cancer educational materials and sunscreen samples at health fairs and community events nationwide.
