About Monash Actuarial Students Society
The Monash Actuarial Students Society (MASS) was established in May 2010 as Monash University’s official student society for members undertaking actuarial studies. The society is supported by the Monash Department of Econometrics and Business Statistics and is affiliated with the Monash Student Association. Our Mission MASS first and foremost acts as a facilitator for both peer support and professional networking for each of our members. We provide our members with a valued source of information regarding academic guidance, accreditation, the actuarial profession and career opportunities; as well as a cohesive membership community built around our social and corporate events. Our two main goals are: (1) Connect our members with professional actuaries (2) Enhance our members’ employable skills set These goals are achieved through the variety of professionally run networking events aimed at increasing our members’ exposure to industry and our employment enhancing workshops that focus on the growth of “soft skills”. Furthermore, we provide our members with the latest job and internship openings directly from our sponsor firms and deliver opportunities to showcase their skills through case competitions and mock interviews.
