About Monokol ®

Founded in 2016, Monokol was born from the desire to express our unique vision within the independent eyewear market. What began as a game of chance has evolved into a purpose-driven journey. Today, we design, produce, and distribute our eyewear worldwide, thanks to a growing network of partners. Our roots trace back to an ex-industrial site in Italy, where Monokol found inspiration in the geometric and angular lines of the skeletal structures of abandoned warehouses. Once a hub for glass production in the 1960s, this site has since been recognized as an architectural heritage landmark. In 2016, our founders chose to establish Monokol’s headquarters in this historically rich setting. Our collections draw inspiration from the past. Over the decades, eyewear has evolved into an iconic design object, reflecting the era in which it was created. We continuously explore traditional craftsmanship and production techniques, reinterpreting them through a contemporary lens. Our goal is to craft eyewear that not only represents today’s aesthetic but also stands the test of time. The glasses we wear tell a story—about style, identity, and the era we live in. The glasses we wear say a lot about who we are.
