About Montana's Heart & Home Foundation
Our mission is to create a California State Certified, Adult residential facility (ARF) with our initial and primary focus being on young ladies with Down Syndrome and/ or like-abilities. Our ARF will be a place to call home. A safe comfortable home providing everything needed to excel as confident young adults. A place to foster dreams, develop life skills, live , explore, learn and be social. Once young adults with special needs reach maturity (18-22 years old), many transitional supports come to and end and it becomes time to start a new chapter in their lives, AKA: Adulthood! Many of these young adults find themselves isolated and not well equipped nor understood. They are wanting to be adults and live independently, but without supports in place, most will not be able to navigate this on their own. Many parents likewise also "age out" and are seeking alternative housing for their young adult. The waiting list for such programs in CA is 6-10 years. The purpose of Montana's Heart & Home is to help fill this need by creating a loving , enriching environment. It is our goal to make this first home a template and to continue to further our mission and create a legacy that will change many lives for many years in many ways.
