About More Than Capable

More Than Capable is a nonprofit organization that empowers adults aged 18 and older with developmental differences and all abilities through inclusive, community-centered programs. We bridge the gap between potential and opportunity by offering compassionate, participant-focused support in a welcoming environment where individuals can thrive. Rooted in connection, creativity, and personal growth, our programs include art, music, dance, work readiness, fitness, wellness, volunteerism, and life skills—such as cooking, transportation, and money management. We nurture essential social and daily living skills while encouraging self-expression, independence, and confidence. We also create pathways for leadership by inviting participants to take active roles in our programs as volunteer helpers—empowering them to lead, develop new skills, take initiative, and inspire others through meaningful involvement. We believe in including participants in program development decisions, giving them a voice in shaping experiences that reflect their interests, strengths, and goals. Our Parent Support Group offers a welcoming space for parents and caregivers of adults with developmental differences to connect, share experiences, and find encouragement. Through open conversations, guest speakers, and practical resources, we foster a sense of community and understanding. We feel that caregivers need a place to feel heard, and our group provides support, ideas, and empowerment. At the heart of our mission is a belief in true community inclusion: that every person deserves to be seen, heard, and valued. We are committed to creating meaningful opportunities for individuals to engage, contribute, and live lives filled with purpose, belonging, and joy—celebrated for their unique strengths and gifts.
