About Mortel High Hopes for Haiti Foundation

The Mortel High Hopes for Haiti Foundation (formerly known as the Mortel Family Charitable Foundation) is a 501(c)(3) that was founded over 20 years ago by Dr. Rodrigue Mortel, MD. Dr. Mortel was a renowned medical physician, Catholic deacon and philanthropist who created the organization as a way to help the poorest of the poor in his native country. The Foundation's mission is to empower the poorest of the poor through education from preschool to adult. Our organization operates a preschool, elementary school and secondary school in St. Marc, Haiti. We feed our students daily and for many of them, that is the only time they eat. We also support an adult literacy school, English program, computer technical program and agricultural program. Future plans include a technical education program. Although Dr. Mortel passed away in April of 2022, the Foundation is committed to continuing his work and legacy into perpetuity - made possible by the commitment and dedication of our staff and Board and the faithful support of our donors.
