Experimental film is an unconventional form of art which facilitates new contexts and unprecedented connections within and a dialogue between the practices of making and perceiving film. Moscow International Experimental Film Festival pioneers transporting artists’ moving image onto cinema screens as MIEFF’s mission is to create an environment for experimental film outside of gallery spaces in our country today. Since July 2016, MIEFF is developing into a strong international showcase platform welcoming up-and-coming as well as experienced filmmakers from around the world. We are driven by a strong ambition to create an institution which will lay a ground stone of a new artists' generation in Russia, facilitate interdisciplinary dialogue and engage a wider creative young audience with this minor and brave approach in seeing things differently in film.
