Mothercare was founded in the UK in 1961 with a clear goal: to provide everything for the mother-to-be and her baby. The focus was on small shops and specialised units, starting with products up to 2 years of age. This concept grew the business worldwide, and our founders' motto was "expectant mothers have no nationality". In 2019 Mothercare Global Brand Ltd was born. We reinvented to become a Franchise only business, no longer having relationships direct to consumers. Our global partners operate 500 stores and e-commerce in more than 30 markets, delivering exceptional service and parenting support in our name. Brand, design, product development and commercial operations continue to be managed by teams in the UK, ensuring brand consistency is maintained and our partners' businesses are supported. Immensely proud of our British heritage, we continue to find new ways to broaden our appeal to those seeking authenticity, experience and expertise as we strive to be the most trusted and desirable brand for parents of babies and young children.
