About Motherland Music

Motherland Music imports and sells hand-carved African Drums and other musical instruments primarily from West Africa and hosts a unique music school (the Motherland Music Institute of African Music Studies - MMIAMS) in which master educators in African drumming teach students in an informal class setting. We also import and sell various other types of hand-made African artworks like traditional carved masks, chairs, mortar and pestles, jewelry, and a wide selection of drum repair items as well as conventional western percussion instruments. We are also noted for quality drum repairs at very reasonable prices, and help consumers organize and promote special public and private events, drum circles and other community activities. The company is owned by Dan Rice of Los Angeles.
