About Mothers of Held Angels (MOHA)

Mothers of Held Angels (MOHA) is a 501c3 non-profit organization that assists mothers and families after the loss of their baby either due to stillbirth or neonatal loss. After devastating losses suffered by all three of the founding members, we personally realized the truly significant need for these services. Our hope is to create a voice for grieving mothers who have held their baby after their passing, to provide immediate day-of-loss resources and ongoing bereavement support for all family members, and to raise public awareness about the unimaginable pain and heartbreak surrounding stillbirth and neonatal loss. Our vision is to set a standard of care for bereaved families in every hospital. We do this by providing bereavement training to hospital staff and nurses with the principal that every family that loses a baby deserves, at minimum, to be offered and supported in using 1) a cooling bassinet to give the gift of time, 2) an Angel box with tools to allow the family to bond and make memories with their baby, and 3) access to an Angel Ambassador, a trained volunteer and previous mom of loss to help the family navigate their days in the hospital and support their grief. Our goal is to raise funds in order to place a Cuddle Cot device in as many hospitals as possible. The Cuddle Cot cooling blanket, which slows the deteriorating process, was invaluable to two of the three moms with this organization.
