The Mt Hotham Racing Squad (MHRS – teamHOTHAM) was founded in 1972 as a not for profit organisation dedicated to the promotion of alpine ski racing, for aspiring, established and elite ski racing athletes, and their families. Our club is managed by an elected volunteer committee with programs designed, managed and implemented by highly qualified, professional coaches. Diverse membership base With a member base of approximately 200, our athletes range from local school children to business professionals, and from four years to over 70. Many members have interstate home-bases, and we’re very proud to be joined each year by a contingent of Northern Hemisphere athletes for their Southern Winter training. Our squad is based in the Victorian Alps at the Mt Hotham ski resort; arguably some of the best ski racing terrain in Australia. Our guiding principle is “To promote, encourage and foster competitive snow sports”, and over the years MHRS has developed a reputation as one of the leading race training organisations in Australia. Our objectives To provide an exceptional racing and training program in a fun, challenging and confidence-boosting atmosphere, that will help each athlete mature and reach their full potential as a ski racer, as well as achieve personal growth as an individual. teamHOTHAM is committed to developing racers from the youngest age group to elite FIS standard competition. Our goal is to prepare young athletes mentally, physically and technically to the level where they can compete for national, international and hopefully Olympic selection.
