About Mount Sinai Center for Radiation Sciences Education at SBU
Mount Sinai’s Department of Radiation Oncology and Stony Brook University School of Health Professions are partnered to provide collaborative education. The Mount Sinai Center for Radiation Sciences Education offers education for both radiation therapy and medical dosimetry students. Through this industry-academic partnership, students will gain academic expertise through didactic coursework at Stony Brook University plus the clinical expertise of Mount Sinai, a national leader in radiation oncology and medical education. Students will hone the skills required to serve our patients in the community while maintaining ethical standards and professionalism in and out of the clinic. The application process, requirements and overall program structure of the Radiation Therapy Program and the Medical Dosimetry Program are identical. Each program offers a bachelor’s degree in health science through Stony Brook University (Four years), followed by a post-baccalaureate clinical year (12 months) through the Mount Sinai Health System. Each program only accepts applications from students in the senior year of the health science major at Stony Brook University.
