About Mountain West UAS
We are a group of people engaged or interested in unmanned aerial systems (sUAS), aka drones. We have monthly meetings in person and online where we discuss topics pertinent to the safe and legal operation of these fantastic tools. We also participate in public outreach to promote the positive benefits of sUAS in many industries and activities. This includes booths at events, speaking engagements, hosting of the UAS Roundup and many other activities. We also help education entities start and operate sUAS programs that introduce and promote the technology to junior- and high-school students. We do this by offering grants and expertise to those wanting help with their programs. Our members come from a variety of backgrounds and experience and include pilots flying just for fun to racing enthusiasts to search & rescue personnel to professional photographers. Membership is easy and open to all. Our dues go toward the furthering of our missions. We are proud of our partnership with the Town of Buena Vista, Colorado in establishing a unique drone flying park were pilots of all levels of experience can learn to fly or hone their piloting skills in a safe environment. We are always looking for organizations to financially support our activities through annual sponsorships. In addition, as a 501(c)(3) organization we accept donations from the public to support our efforts.
