MOWOOT is a growth stage medical device company targeting INTESTINAL TRANSIT DISORDERS with a novel, purely physical, NON-DRUG & NON-INVASVIVE SOLUTION. MOWOOT (legal name USMIMA SL) emerged out of the prestigious, Stanford Biodesign inspired ,program dHEALTH BCN and was founded in 2014. The Intermittent Colonic Exoperistalsis (ICE) treatment and the MOWOOT device have been developed in collaboration with one of Europes leading neuro-rehabilitation hospitals, Institut Guttmann (Barcelona), is IP protected and clinically proven. The medical device MOWOOT is a novel, purely physical, non-drug and non-invasive solution to treat intestinal transit disorders such as: - neurogenic bowel disorder (NBD; affecting 80% of neurological patients) - chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC; affecting up to 24% of the general population and over 50% of the elderly) - opioid-induced constipation (OIC; affecting up to 90% of chronic pain patients) - irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C; affecting up to 34% of IBS patients) The mechanism of action behind the MOWOOT device, Intermittent Colonic Exoperistalsis (ICE), is inspired by the abdominal, colon-specific massage of professional physiotherapists and clinically proven to ameliorate constipation symptoms with as little as 15 minutes of once daily use, without the side effects or inconveniences of other solutions. MOWOOT is already mentioned in several clinical guidelines and textbooks in different EU countries.
