About MPK&D

MPK&D’s experienced team of higher education and nonprofit leaders delivers practical and creative solutions to some of the most complex challenges facing higher education institutions and organizations today. From campaign planning and counsel, board development, strategic planning, marketing communications and brand identity—to onboarding and coaching new presidents, CEOs and senior team members to ensure successful institutional transitions— MPK&D provides comprehensive and practical support to our clients. MPK&D was established in 2014 under the leadership of four founding partners: Mary Pat Seurkamp, Pat Bosse, Kent Chabotar and Dan Carey. (Seurkamp, Chabotar and Carey carry the distinguished titles of president emerita/emeritus from their former academic institutions.) We pride ourselves in being a “one-stop shop” for those we serve. While many clients seek us for one specific project (brand identity, campaign counsel, academic structure and program review, board facilitation, or strategic planning, for example), our broad experience, access to resources and problem-solving strength often leads to multiple engagements over several years. We like that, because we like our clients and get to know them well in our personalized process. MPK&D’s portfolio includes 60 clients ranging from private to public universities, to national associations, to mission-driven middle and secondary schools serving diverse communities, to other nonprofits. Our MPK&D national team brings a diversity and depth of experience that allows us to provide assistance in a wide range of areas—always with a practical approach and personal touch. MPK&D is incorporated in the state of Maryland.
