M/s. Mahalakshmi Profiles Pvt. Ltd. was promoted in 1996 by a team of highly experienced promoters of Steel Industry in South India. The Company had been initially set up for the manufacture of Hot Rolled Strips/Flats. Hot Rolled Strips have a wide range of industrial use and is mainly used for the manufacture of M.S. ERW and Galvanized Pipes. Hot Rolled Strips are also used for W Straps for Collieries, Rolling Shutters etc. The basic input for the production of strip is high quality M.S. Billets, which are mainly procured by the company from renowned companies like Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (RINL) & Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL). Under the automation plans, the company has now successfully started producing narrow width H.R. Coils instead of Strips/Flats. In July, 2000, the company had expanded its activities under the forward integration plans and installed a pipe manufacturing division. Further the company had expanded its pipe manufacturing by setting up the second and third pipe mills during 2003 and 2008 respectively. The firm has also setup a W-strap line to meet the requirement of The Singareni Collieries Co. Ltd. The company is expanding the range of pipes it is producing by setting up a 4th pipe plant which will be commissioned shortly. Being the sole producer of narrow width H.R. Coils, the business has enjoyed a competitive edge over the other players in the South Indian Pipe market. To further establish its presence, the company has set up a branch office in Bangalore which undertakes the marketing operations in the region. The company has also expanded into manufacturing scaffolding equipment like cup-lock systems, adjustable props, H-frames. These products could be readily made from the existing products manufactured by the pipe division. Also, the boom seen in the recent years in the construction industry has lured the promoters into this business. Today, we are supplying our scaffolding systems to major projects in India.
