Welcome to MRIRT. We support designers and design admirers in completing interior concepts with our one-of-a-kind rugs. MRIRT rugs are more than just thoughtfully designed and crafted floor coverings, they are timeless pieces of art. Based in Zurich and Marrakech, MRIRT creates hand-knotted Moroccan rugs made of 100% natural wool. After several years of research, Laila Fadaoui, MRIRT’s Swiss-born, half-Italian, half-Moroccan founder and designer, decided to specialise in the M’rirt style of rugs from the Middle Atlas Mountains and is focused on their origins and traditions. M’rirt, Morocco, مريرت in Arabic or ⵎⵔⵉⵔⵜ in Central Atlas-Tamazight, is the home to the ancestral craft of weaving high-pile plush rugs with patterns created by knotted relief areas. MRIRT pieces are produced exclusively in the village where this style of rug-making originated. MRIRT is committed to the preservation of Moroccan craftsmanship, more precisely regarding the trade of rugs from the M’rirt region.
