MT Geoservices Ltd was incorporated in January 2013 to provide geotechnical services across the UK and Europe. We pride ourselves on providing quality data through good quality sample recovery, in-depth laboratory analysis and engineering description of samples and consequently providing factual reports to aid the design of sub-structures. Over the years, we have carried out site reconnaissance and walkover surveys, desktop studies, site soil and rock characterisation across the UK and have assisted in completing numerous detailed offshore and nearshore geotechnical site investigation in the English Channel, North Sea and the Mediterranean sea. The accurate engineering description of soils and rocks is fundamental to the success of any civil engineering or geo-environmental site investigation and in the vast majority of cases the materials recovered from the ground are seen only once and it is in this very short space of time that the geotechnical/geo-environmental-engineer must decide on the composition of the soil and hence describe and record it. These descriptions invariably form the building blocks of conceptual ground models and are the basis for important design decisions, work often carried out by different personnel from another organisation.
