In 1949, a cohort of Traverse City locals came together to establish what is now known as Mt. Holiday, envisioning a haven for skiing and outdoor enthusiasts. After a vibrant history, the year 2002 marked a pivotal moment as Mt. Holiday obtained its 501(c)(3) non-profit status, and its sustenance relies entirely on the generosity of the community. At present, Mt. Holiday presents an array of 14 ski and snowboard runs accommodating a spectrum of skill levels, complemented by an exhilarating tubing hill and surrounding trails perfect for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. The facility encompasses not only these, but also a comprehensive rental department, a dedicated ski school, a youth race team, and a lively restaurant, fondly known as the T-Bar complete with a liquor license. In addition to skiing, Mt. Holiday has also established itself as a haven for snowboarders, boasting an exciting and ever-changing terrain park that caters to enthusiasts of all skill levels. The exhilaration continues through spring, summer, and fall, as the resort transforms into a hub for zip-lining and hiking adventures. The versatile facility is also available for event rentals, providing an ideal backdrop for weddings, corporate retreats, fundraisers, and more. During the summer months, the hillside comes alive with a captivating concert series. Mt. Holiday is also home to the esteemed Holiday Race Team (HRT), and Base Camp fostering the growth and excellence of young athletes.
