Mission: The University of Missouri’s Financial Planning Association (MU FPA) is dedicated to educating students about the financial planning industry and providing opportunities for professional development. We empower members with the knowledge, skills, and connections needed to excel in their future careers. We foster a community where students can build meaningful relationships with peers and industry professionals, empowering them to thrive in their future careers. Core Values: Education: We educate our members to ensure they have a strong foundation in the financial planning industry so that they are better equipped to network and engage with professionals and understand the potential for their careers. In Practice: Regular events featuring industry professionals, lecture/workshop meetings, and offering access to outside resources. Career Advancement: We offer opportunities that help members to progress in their careers. In Practice: Organizing exclusive firm visits, promoting internships and full-time roles, and ensuring members have access to and are prepared for career fairs and conferences that connect them with potential employers. Community & Networking: We foster strong relationships among peers and with industry leaders, helping students build their professional network. In Practice: Hosting social events, peer mentoring programs, and networking mixers that encourage members to engage with one another and industry professionals. Ambition & Growth: We encourage members to push themselves and take courageous steps toward their career goals. In Practice: Challenging members to attend industry conferences, participate in financial planning case studies and competitions, network outside of their comfort zone, and step into leadership roles within the organization.
