The Museum of Paleontology and Evolution (MPE) was founded in 1995 in Montreal, Quebec by a group of professors, students and amateurs. Despite the absence of a permanent public exhibit, its involvement in the fields of Paleontology and Earth Sciences in Canada makes it an organization recognized by its peers, often much larger and older than itself. The MPE is a laboratory housing a collection of more than 60,000 fossils mostly from Quebec, although other North American sites are also represented. About 50 dedicated members support and actively participate its the various projects.
