About Music Australia
A Voice For All Music Music Australia is the new name for the Music Council of Australia – advancing all aspects of music across the country. Music Australia is the only organisation in Australia devoted to music in its entirety. We are a 50-member national umbrella body with activities spanning education, community and the professional industry. We deliver campaigns, information, resources, sector networking, community engagement, a national school music participation program, and demonstration projects. Our members include nominees of major national music organisations, and experienced individuals drawn from all areas of music. Our membership structure includes representation from a broad range of musical genres, the various levels of music education, and the many ways of performing, recording and disseminating music. Our school music program Music: Count Us In reaches more than 2,000 schools and 500,000 students across Australia, and provides professional development in music to thousands of teachers.
